Production Process of Calcium Silicate Board

Product Description

Calcium Silicate Board Manufacturing Plant

Calcium silicate board is an asbestos-free insulation product that can withstand consistently high working temperatures. It is a lightweight, low thermal conductivity, strong, easy to install, reliable and durable product. Industrial grade pipe and equipment insulation is typically made from calcium silicate. It is a white, free-flowing powder obtained by reacting calcium oxide and silica. It has a low bulk density and high physical water absorption.

Production Process of Calcium Silicate Board

Production Process

The wire-cutting method and the slurry method. Our company generally employs the slurry method for production. The slurry method is a more recent technological development that primarily focuses on changing the casting process. In this method, the slurry is directly spread onto a felt belt from the feed box, and the material is formed into boards through vacuum dehydration. As a result, the equipment for the board-forming process in the slurry method is relatively simple but requires the addition of a vacuum dehydration system. The slurry method has relatively less material wastage, a mature production technology, a smooth production process, and advanced, reliable equipment.

The raw materials for calcium silicate boards include silica materials (such as quartz powder, fly ash, diatomaceous earth, etc.), calcium materials (cement, calcium carbide residue, lime, etc.), and reinforcing fibers (pulp fibers, fiberglass, etc.). These materials go through processes like pulping, board forming, autoclaving, surface sanding, and more to create lightweight boards. Due to the reaction of silica and calcium materials under high-temperature and high-pressure conditions, tobermorite crystals are formed, resulting in the excellent stability of the boards. Therefore, calcium silicate boards primarily composed of these crystals exhibit characteristics such as waterproofing, moisture resistance, durability, low deformation rate, and heat insulation. They are particularly suitable for use as interior wall panels and ceiling boards in construction and have various other applications.
